Florida high school football coach steps down after three straight playoff appearances

One of Florida’s top high school football coaches on the South Suncoast has decided to step away to pursue an opportunity outside of coaching, teaching.

Dylan Clark announced on social media on Thursday morning that he is announcing his resignation as the head football coach at Parrish Community (Fla.) after three seasons. Clark led the Bulls to the postseason each of his three campaigns and compiled an overall record of 25-7.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as the head football coach at Parrish Community High School. I have been offered a position outside of coaching and education that is a great opportunity for myself and my family.

The previous three years have been extremely rewarding, and I could not be prouder of what we have accomplished. I would like to thank our administration, coaches, players, parents, and community for their unwavering support, dedication, and commitment to our football program.

I will remain on campus for the remainder of the school year, working to find college homes for all our seniors, continuing to support our players academically, and providing assistance to the program as needed.“

The Bulls were coming off a 9-2 season under Clark in which the program qualified for Florida’s Class 6A high school football playoffs, falling to East Lake in the region quarterfinals, 35-7.

Clark arrived at Parrish Community after leading Alonso (Fla.) for two seasons and went 8-11 overall.
