Class of 2029 quarterback Ty Snell transferring to Allen (Texas)

Just a week after announcing that he would be leaving Lipscomb Academy (Tenn.), 2029 standout quarterback Ty Snell has announced where he’ll be headed for the 2025 season.

On Tuesday afternoon, Snell shared on social media that he will be relocating to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and play for the five-time UIL state champion Allen.

‘After a lot of prayer and family talks, my family has decided to relocate to Allen, Texas, where I’ll be attending Allen High School next season.

To my Lipscomb coaches thank you for the life lessons, for pushing me to be my best, and for trusting me to play varsity as an 8th grader. I’m forever grateful.

To my teammates I love you all and will miss you.

Anthony Snell, Ty’s father, confirmed to The Tennessean’s Tyler Palmateer in late June that his son would either be transferring to a school in Texas or heading back to IMG Academy, where he spent a spring semester as a seventh grader. The family ultimately decided on the former after one season with the Mustangs.

Snell saw considerable time under center as an 8th grader at Lipscomb Academy, with the Mustangs finishing 4-6 in 2024. Last season, Snell completed 74 of his passes for 893 yards and four touchdowns. In starts against Montgomery Bell Academy and Knoxville Catholic, Snell combined for 417 yards passing.

When it comes to his college interest, Snell isn’t lacking suitors as he heads into his freshman season. The 2029 passer received his first offer from Marshall and has since earned overtures from Arkansas State, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, Memphis, Kennesaw State, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Ohio State.
