Archbishop Mitty proved why they are the sixth-best team in the National Rivals Girls Basketball Composite Team Rankings. The Monarchs improved to 16-2 after a one-sided 79-17 victory over Mountain View’s Saint Francis Lancers. The result marks the fewest points they’ve allowed and their biggest winning margin this season.

The Monarchs limited the Lancers to only two points in the first quarter and 11 by halftime. Their defense intensified in the second half, surrendering only six points in the final two quarters. The 62-point demolition extended Mitty’s current winning streak to five games.

Iowa signee McKenna Woliczko, the No. 6 prospect from the Class of 2026, led Archbishop Mitty with 25 points. Ze’Ni Patterson added 12 points, while Maliya Hunter and Abi James had 11 points apiece. Devin Cosgriff and Tee McCarthy contributed seven points each. Zi Patterson made four points, and Sofia Teresi had two.

Archbishop Mitty will face Saint Francis again in their regular season finale on February 17. However, before that day arrives, the Monarchs will visit Valley Christian on the road on January 29 and close their January schedule against Salesian College Prep on the 31st. The Sue Phillips-coached squad will open their February slate versus Saint Ignatius Prep on the 6th. Then, the Monarchs are off to Archbishop Riordan (Feb. 10) and Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep (Feb. 13).
