The Warriors made a crucial 2-point conversion stop in the game’s final minutes to hold on for a thrilling 35-34 victory on the road over the Red Devils Friday night. Thompson moves on to the Class 7A final against Opelika, a 31-28 winner over Auburn.
Thompson nearly blew a 35-14 lead after Urijah Casey scored on a 53-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, with Phenix City Central scoring 20 unanswered points in the final period.
