2028 4-star QB Christopher Vargas puts on a show in finale

If you want to see one of the top high school quarterbacks in the country, taking a trip up to the New England region is where you may need to visit to see 2028 four-star Christopher Vargas.

The 6-foot-4 Vargas, who plays for St. John’s Preparatory School, has been impressive all throughout the 2025 campaign and added another strong performance in the books this past Saturday. According to the Salem News Express, Vargas was dealing in the Eagles 43-28 win over Catholic Memorial. completing 20 of 29 passes, including 10 of 11 in the second half, and four touchdowns.

Vargas had one of the best performances of the season in St. John’s Preparatory’s 47-21 victory over Central Catholic a few weeks ago when the quarterback completed 18 of 24 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns.

The sophomore has a number of offers from Power 4 level schools, which includes Boston College, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State and Syracuse.

St. John’s Preparatory’s finished the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) regular season with a undefeated record at 8-0. The Eagles on Sunday were awarded the No. 1 seed in Massachusetts’ Division I and they will take on No. 16 seed Framingham on Friday night.

The Eagles still have a Thanksgiving game scheduled against Xaverian Brothers, which should be one of the top high school football games of that week.
