2027 QB Kai Moore transferring from Miami Norland to Columbus

The Florida high school football season ended less than 48 hours ago, but the off-season transferring has already begun and it begins down in South Florida.

2027 quarterback Kai Moore confirmed to Rivals Monday night that he will be transferring to Columbus from Miami Norland. Moore is coming off his first season as a varsity starting quarterback for the Vikings in 2025.

The signal caller had the nearly impossible task of following up Dade County’s all-time leading passer when it comes to yardage in Ennio Yapoor. Yapoor ended his high school career throwing for 14,129 yards and 111 touchdowns.

In his first season behind center, Moore for Norland led the club to the Class 4A playoffs, with the team falling in the region semifinals to Archbishop McCarthy, 24-14. Moore finished the season completing 175 of 251 (69 percent) passes for 2,137 yards, 18 touchdowns and only five interceptions. The junior also added 78 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Miami Norland principal Rhonda Gaines-Miller during the regular season penned a statement that the Vikings’ football program would be moving forward from first-year head coach Tyronn Johnson and had named Horane Allison as the interim coach.

Johnson had taken over during the off-season for former Miami Norland head coach Daryle Heidelburg, who stepped down after the 2024 season
