2027 3-star wide receiver transfers to St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.)

Another big time transfer is making his way for the 17-time state champion St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders (Fla.).

According to EdgyTim on Tuesday, Barrington (IL) junior three star ranked wide receiver Austin Coles has officially transferred to play for the Raiders.

“Everything is all squared away and I’ve transferred from Barrington to St. Thomas Aquinas,” Coles said to EdgyTim. “I’ll definitely miss my teammates and coaches at Barrington along with my friends, but I’m also excited for the new challenge at a new school.”

The Raiders have seen an influx of high profile transfers as of late, with quarterbacks 2027 three-star James Perrone (USF commit) and 2028 signal caller Nate Merrell Jr. both heading for St. Thomas Aquinas, the country’s No. 8 nationally ranked team per the Rivals National 2025 High School Football Composite Rankings.

This past 2025 season for the Broncos, which finished 10-2 in Illinois, Coles led Barrington with 53 catches for 851 yards and scored seven touchdowns. Coles, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound junior wide receiver, has numerous Power 4 level offers, including from Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Miami (FL), Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

St. Thomas Aquinas finished as the state’s No. 2 ranked team, according to the final Florida 2025 High School Football Massey Rankings.
