Women’s basketball delivered another week of thrilling hoops. In turn, voters updated the AP Poll Top 25 on Monday.

Poll voters had plenty of material to consider in their revised rankings. Since last Monday, there have been seven ranked matchups, with several of them producing shocking results.

Of course, some teams have been immune to upsets thus far, including the No. 1 team in the country. With so much to cover, let’s dive into the updated women’s college basketball AP Top 25, starting with the UConn Huskies.

1. UConn Huskies

UConn steamrolled its opponents this past week, winning its three outings by an average margin of 39.6 points per game. Most recently, the Huskies defeated Seton Hall 92-52 on Saturday.

In the win, Sarah Strong stuffed the stat sheet, recording 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. Azzi Fudd was excellent as well, notching 14 points on 3-4 shooting from 3-point range.

2. UCLA Bruins (+1)

UConn isn’t the only team cruising through conference play. UCLA picked up two blowout wins last week.

On Sunday, UCLA handed Northwestern a 34-point shellacking. The Bruins weren’t afraid to share the wealth. Four of the team’s starters scored double figures in the win, and the Bruins recorded 15 total assists.

3. South Carolina Gamecocks (-1)

South Carolina showed off its resilience this past week. On Thursday, the Gamecocks fell in overtime to a gritty Oklahoma squad. Alas, South Carolina didn’t allow the loss to set it back.

On Sunday, the Gamecocks stunned Vanderbilt in a 103-74 blowout. South Carolina could hardly miss, shooting 62% from the field and 59% from downtown.

4. Texas Longhorns

Texas enjoyed a week off after suffering through a gauntlet of games the previous week. The Longhorns suffered back-to-back losses against LSU and South Carolina, but bounced back with a triumph over Texas A&M.

With five consecutive ranked opponents ahead on its schedule, Texas can only hope it used its break wisely. The Longhorns have a ramp-up game against Florida before beginning its grueling stretch against ranked foes.

Life is full of peaks and valleys, and women’s basketball is no exception. Vanderbilt jumpstarted last week with a win over top-10 opponent Michigan. However, the Commodores’ momentum only carried them so far.

On Sunday, Vanderbilt suffered a lopsided loss against South Carolina. It was the Commodores’ first loss of the season. Vanderbilt committed a whopping 20 turnovers against the Gamecocks.

6. LSU Tigers

On Thursday, LSU picked up its fourth consecutive win, defeating Texas A&M in merciless 98-54 fashion. MiLaysia Fulwiley led all scorers, logging 23 points while shooting 8-13 from the floor.

Fulwiley was far from the Tigers’ only standout. Senior forward Amiya Joyner posted an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double in the win.

7. Louisville Cardinals (+1)

After emerging victorious from an overtime war against NC State last Sunday, Louisville was happy to collect a comfortable 85-56 win over Boston College on Saturday. With the win, Louisville improved to 9-0 in conference play.

Louisville’s scoring was well-distributed, with no player scoring more than 13 points. The Cardinals held Boston College to just 29% shooting from the field.

9. Michigan Wolverines (-2)

After falling to Vanderbilt early last week, Michigan redeemed itself with wins over Rutgers and USC. The Trojans tested Michigan’s resolve.

The Wolverines trailed USC by five points entering the fourth quarter. Nonetheless, they outscored the Trojans 20-11 in the final frame to escape with the victory.

10. Oklahoma Sooners (+6)

After suffering three straight losses, Oklahoma bounced back in a massive way this past week. Most notably, the Sooners knocked over South Carolina in an overtime thriller.
