Flau’jae Johnson has arrived at the Orange Carper at the 2026 WNBA Draft. As expected, she looks every bit the part of a potential first-round pick.

Looking like the star of the show, the former LSU Tigers star showed up in an all-black trumpet dress with a fur shawl draped over her arms to match. She posed for some photos before entering the draft’s green room to await her name called.

“Shout out to my stylist, Elliot,” Johnson said after joining the ESPN panel ahead of the start of the draft. “He got me so right. I told my team, I was like, I want to look like I’m going to the WNBA draft at 6 p.m. and a Met Gala at 6:30.

“I would say that they delivered on that mission right.”

They certainly did. However, obviously, she can trade her earrings in for a pair of basketball shoes in a moment’s notice. That’s what she did for four seasons in Baton Rouge, which included a national title win.

This past season, Johnson averaged 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. On her career, she played in 141 games for head coach Kim Mulkey, logging 139 starts over that stretch. She averaged 14.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game over her career.

“Toughness,” Johnson said of what sets her apart. “Playing under Coach Mulkey, you have to be tough. Playing in front of my best friends in the world, the best fans in the world, you know, you have to be focused. You have to be committed and dedicated. And that’s what I was for four years. I feel like it made me ready for this moment.”

The 2026 WNBA Draft is set for 7 p.m. ET as ESPN will air the entire event live. Johnson isn’t expected to wait long to hear her name called.
