ATH TyLyric Coleman commits to Virginia

Ringgold (Va.) Dan River athlete TyLyric Coleman committed to Virginia on Saturday night. The 6-foot-3, 175 pound prospect chose the Cavaliers over programs including Richmond.

He announced his decision to choose Virginia on Saturday night over social media. He is now the 12th member of the Cavaliers’ 2023 recruiting class. Virginia’s group currently is No. 61 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 13 in the ACC.

Coleman is the only unranked prospect currently in Virginia’s 2023 class. He is also the only athlete. However, Coleman is Virginia’s third commitment of the month following Tappahannock (Va.) Essex three-star linebacker Kamren Robinson and Saint Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood three-star quarterback Anthony Colandrea.

The Cavaliers also received pledges last month from Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley three-star wide receiver Amare Thomas, Woodberry Forest (Va.) three-star defensive lineman Rodney Lora and Green Cove Springs (Fla.) IMG Academy three-star cornerback Jarvis Lee, Highland Springs (Va.) three-star defensive lineman Miles Greene, Maryville (Tenn.) three-star running back Noah Vaughn and Denver (N.C.) East Lincoln three-star cornerback Keandre Walker and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star tight end TeKai Kirby.

Other members of Virginia’s class include Fredericksburg (Va.) Massaponax three-star running back Donte Hawthorne and Nokesville (Va.) Patriot three-star interior offensive lineman Cole Surber. In his first offseason as head coach, Tony Elliot has done a good job recruiting in-state. Six of the Cavaliers’ commitments are from Virginia.
