Texas vs. Air Force weather update: Midweek game canceled
Fans in Austin were hoping to watch some midweek baseball between the Texas Longhorns and Air Force Falcons. Mother Nature, unfortunately, had other ideas. Rain in the area meant getting the game in was always going to be tough. And just before the scheduled time for first pitch, a final decision was made.
Texas and Air Force will not play on Tuesday night. The game does not appear to be getting rescheduled either.
Initially, the game was slated to start from UFCU Disch-Falk Field at 6:30 p.m. Pushing things back an hour potentially opened up a window for the game to be played. However, the update around an hour later was not a positive one.
Playing Air Force has become a normal occurrence for Texas. While weekend series have taken place in the past, head coach Jim Schlossnagle got them on the schedule for a one-off this time. It was just not meant to be.
As a result, Texas will not get any on-field action in between SEC series. Last weekend saw the Longhorns take down the Alabama Crimson Tide in two out of three games. Friday will see them hit the road to Nashville, TN, for a massive showdown vs. the Vanderbilt Commodores. Hopefully, the weather can stay away in that one.

Texas Longhorns pushing for SEC regular season title
When it comes to the NCAA Tournament, there is not much doubt regarding Texas. On3’s Jonathan Wagner has the Longhorns are the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament. Everyone fully expects them to be a top-eight seed when the bracket is revealed. Getting to host a regional and a potential Super Regional is just about a lock.
Exactly how high Texas can get does remain a question, though. Finding a way to win the SEC regular season title certainly would help their cause.
Going into the Vandy series, one game separates them from teams currently in first place. Right now, the Georgia Bulldogs and Texas A&M Aggies hold the top spots. The latter just took two games from Texas, with the series final getting canceled due to weather. An uneven number of games could throw a wrench into the entire equation.
In total, 12 SEC games remain on the schedule. Texas likely feels as if they need to walk away from every weekend with at least two wins. Otherwise, somebody will be hoisting up the SEC trophy.
