Texas A&M forward Rashaun Agee left the Aggies’ matchup against Texas Southern on Thursday after appearing to take a shot to the face after a collision at the basket. Agee was taken to the locker room and after review, the play was upgraded as a Flagrant 1.

In Agee’s absense, Rubén Dominguez was selected to shoot both free throws, which he made. Texas A&M kept possession after the foul shots.

The play occurred when the Aggies were leading 56-42 with 16:06 left in the game. After a close first half, Texas A&M has begun pulling away from the Tigers.

Agee was the team’s leading scorer with 16 points when he left the game. He was shooting 6-of-9 from the floor including three assists and a pair of blocks in just over 17 minutes played.

During Texas A&M’s first game of the season, Agee logged 12 points on 75% shooting to go with five rebounds and one assist during the 98-68 win against Northwestern State. It was his first game in a Texas A&M uniform after arriving to the program out of the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.

A college veteran, Agee spent last year with the USC Trojans after previously playing two seasons at Bowling Green and one in junior college. Agee also played two years at New Mexico State beginning in the 2019-20 season. He took a redshirt his true freshman season and was limited to one game due to injury the following year so did not lose any eligibility for those years.

The 6-foot-8 forward played in 34 games and made 10 starts during the 2024 season at USC. He averaged 9.4 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 55% from the field. That came after Agee had a breakout season at Bowling Green in 2023-24 to average 13.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. His efforts earned him second team All-MAC honors that year.

It remains to be seen how serious Agee’s injury is, or if he’ll miss any time moving forward. Texas A&M will hope to have him back soon, as the Aggies are set to travel to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon.

However, Texas A&M won’t have another game until that next Friday (Nov. 14) when they host UCF. That gives Agee an additional five days to help nurse his current ailment, if he misses any time at all after Thursday.
