Oklahoma State OL transfer Noah McKinney commits to TCU

Former Oklahoma State OL Noah McKinney has committed to and signed with TCU out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. McKinney originally entered the portal on Oct. 16.

According to Pro Football Focus, McKinney was Oklahoma State’s second-best player to see at least 100 snaps in the 2025 season. McKinney transferred to Stillwater ahead of the 2023 campaign after redshirting his true freshman season at UNLV.

The Frisco, TX native was one of 12 former Cowboys to enter the portal once longtime head coach Mike Gundy was fired following their 1-2 start to the season. Oklahoma State players’ 30-day window to enter the transfer portal after Gundy’s firing officially closed on Oct. 24, which required McKinney to enter before that date. Although he made his intentions of leaving known, he played the remainder of the season on the Cowboys’ O-Line.

Mike Gundy spent 21 seasons as Oklahoma State’s head coach, amassing a 170-90 overall record and the 2011 Big 12 title. He was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year three times during his tenure and produced 18 consecutive winning seasons. He left Oklahoma State football as the program’s winningest coach of all time. In the 16 years before Gundy took over at Oklahoma State, the program had four winning seasons.

“Cowboy Football reached an unprecedented level of success and national prominence under Coach Gundy’s leadership,” Oklahoma State Athletic Director Chad Weiberg said in a statement. “I believe I speak for OSU fans everywhere when I say that we are grateful for all he did to raise the standard and show us all what is possible for Oklahoma State football.”

Thanks to Gundy’s firing, McKinney now heads home to Texas and will join a TCU football program that has clinched bowl eligibility in three of the past four seasons under head coach Sonny Dykes. Per On3’s Pete Nakos, he visited North Carolina and Kentucky as well. However, he has decided to spend his final season of eligibility in Fort Worth.
