WATCH: Jalen Brooks makes an amazing one-handed grab
South Carolina wide receiver Jalen Brooks was doing his best to look like Odell Beckham, Jr. tonight when he made one of the best catches of the year.
Check out this unbelievable grab he made in the South Carolina-Georgia game tonight.
What a grab by Jalen Brooks and he may find himself on Sportcenter later tonight with some top-10 love. It was a 37-yard catch from Gamecocks quarterback Luke Doty.
This is Brooksā second year at South Carolina. He began his career at Wingate (North Carolina) and also had a brief stint at Tarleton State in Texas.
During his two seasons at Wingate, Brooks hauled in 52 passes for 1,048 yards, while bringing in ten touchdowns.
When suiting up for Wingate, a Division II school, he earned first team All-South Atlantic Conference honors in 2019.
Brooks had to wait longer than usual last season to get on the football field due to eligibility delays through the NCAA. He talked about how he was hoping to improve his drops from the 2020 season. āI didnāt feel comfortable or too good about my progress. Iām just happy Iāve been correcting those things through practice, through summer,ā he said,Ā per Ben Portnoy.

Itās safe to say heās got the āspectacular catchā thing down.
Bryan Edwardsā catch
Speaking of spectacular catches, Brooksā catch this evening reminded many Gamecock fans of Bryan Edwardsā catch a few years ago against Tennessee.
Check out the video of the grab below.
The catch was good enough to get Edwards featured on Randy Mossā āYou got Mossed!ā segment on ESPN.
Injuries
Unfortunately, it wasnāt all good news for the Gamecocks as they got drubbed by Georgia 40-13. They also lost veteran linebacker Sherrod Greene in the game to a lower left leg injury. It did not look good, as Greene was carted off the field and was visibly in tears as he was leaving the field.
South Carolina will be in action again next Saturday, Sept. 25 against the Kentucky Wildcats. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
