The 6-foot-5 Dual pledged to the Friars back in June, choosing Providence over over the likes of NC State, Arizona State, TCU, VCU, and others. He opted not to sign with Providence during the early period in November and instead was set to ink with the program in May.
He ranks as the No. 46 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 point guard nationally.
Scouting Summary
Garwey Dual is an intriguing prospect with a lot of tools. At 6-5, he is a long-armed paint-touch point guard, he has a lot of shift in his handle and very quick-twitch. Dual needs strength, which may help cut down his turnovers. His physical tools are advanced and he is still growing into the speed of the game. The jump shot is streaky, better off the bounce than the catch. He has a very shifty cross over and change of direction handle. Needs strength and continued development, a lot of upside. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
