New Jersey LB Kyle Louis flips to Pitt from Temple

East Orange (N.J.) East Orange Campus linebacker Kyle Louis flipped from Temple to Pittsburgh on Monday.

He had been committed to the Owls since June and is considered a consensus three-star recruit.

“I want to thank Coach Infante and Temple U for their belief in me,” Louis tweeted. “However, I have decided to decommit and commit to the U of Pitt. Thank you to all who have supported me and my family. I will continue to work and make illtown proud. Sharks will be circling Pittsburgh.”

Louis is having a monster season for 7-0 East Orange Campus. Over the first six games of the season, Louis has 73 tackles — 16.0 for loss — and one interception.

Kyle Louis’ flip continues the good times for Pitt

It is a fun time to be a Panther.

Pitt is 6-1 and 3-0 in the ACC, putting them atop the Coastal Division with no team within two losses of them. The Panthers defeated Clemson in a season-defining victory this past weekend. They are ranked No. 17 in the AP Poll. Kenny Pickett is a Heisman Trophy contender.

And while Kyle Louis isn’t the biggest recruit, it illustrates that Pitt’s success on the football field is translating to the recruiting trail.

The Panthers class is near the bottom of the ACC, but with the momentum around the program rising, that could very well change over the coming weeks.

Whether its uncommitted prospects or committed recruits they are trying to flip, the Panthers appear to be using their successful season to their advantage.
