According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Oregon defensive lineman Terrance Green plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Green spent three seasons with the program, turning into a nice piece for head coach Dan Lanning. But he will be searching for a new home in the coming days, soon to be on the open market.

Green played in a total of 25 games during his time with the Ducks. A total of 22 tackles were recorded, adding three tackles for a loss and a sack. Two passes defended find their way on there as well, split between the 2024 and 2025 seasons. However, per usual with interior defensive linemen, stats do not tell the full story.

Oregon saw growth from Green on a consistent basis over the years. Using a redshirt in 2023 as a true freshman opened the door for another season of eligibility as well. So, whoever lands Green will be getting somebody still developing with two more years to unlock the full potential.

More on Terrance Green, high school recruitment

It’s been a few years now. But Green was once one of the more sought-after players in the country coming out of high school. Blue-chip defensive linemen always are, especially when coming from the Lone Star State.

Green played high school football at Cypress (TX) Cy Woods, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 229 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Michigan State was one of the schools close to initially landing Green. Others from outside Texas included Florida and Miami. The in-state Longhorns were in on the party as well, all looking up at Oregon when push came to shove.

“Prototype build that shows disruption and athleticism as a two-way starter at defensive and offensive tackle,” Rivals’ Charles Power said in a scouting report of Green from 2022. “Stands at 6-foot-5.5 and 275 pounds with an 83-inch wingspan. Displays raw power and punch when striking defenders and stacking offensive lineman as a run defender. Threw over 50 feet in the shot put as a junior. Flashes smooth feet as a pass protector and when rushing the passer.

“Tallied up 40 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a junior. Body type and physical traits scream offensive tackle projection, just has some rawness to his game that can be honed in with college coaching. Has the potential to make an impact on either side of the ball at the college level, with his highest upside projecting as an offensive tackle.”
