Ole Miss DL Jeffery Rush enters NCAA transfer portal
Ole Miss defensive lineman Jeffery Rush has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Rush is a former four-star recruit.
Rush spent two seasons with the Rebels. During that time, he logged on tackle which he earned as a true freshman in 2024.
Before college, Rush was a four-star recruit and top 300 player the 2024 recruiting class according to the Rivals Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He committed to Lane Kiffin’s Rebels over the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State and Miami among others.
Rush is the latest of a slew of Rebels to hit the NCAA transfer portal on Monday. This includes safety TJ Banks and offensive lineman Devin Harper.
Banks spent two seasons with the Rebels, having the best year of his career so far in 2025. Banks logged 20 tackles and a pass breakup across 10 games of production. He tallied five tackles in Ole Miss’ three games in the College Football Playoff. As a true freshman in 2024, Banks finished with four tackles in three appearances.

For Harper, the one-time LSU commit played in a handful of games as a true freshman, mostly as a reserve. Results were considered positive, getting a glowing review from the coaching staff during fall camp.
Though, Ole Miss did plan on having Harper return for the 2026 season, announcing as such just six days ago. But a change of direction appears to have taken place. Three years of eligibility are expected to remain for Harper, wherever he does end up.
All three Rush, Banks and Harper leave Ole Miss having been a part of the most successful season in program history. Finishing one win away from the national championship despite the coaching turnover ahead of the postseason, the Rebels leave the 2025-26 season with a 13-2 record overall.
