Oregon transfer DB Dakoda Fields commits to Oklahoma
Oregon transfer cornerback Dakoda Fields has committed to play at Oklahoma in 2026, On3 has learned. He played the past two seasons with the Ducks, appearing in three games, all of which came this past season.
Fields played high school football for Junipero Serra (CA), where he was a four-star prospect in the 2024 class. He ranked as the No. 112 overall player and No. 16 cornerback in the cycle according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.
So far, OU has been fairly active since the transfer portal opened on Friday, signing six players to its roster. In additions to Fields, the Sooners also added offensive lineman Jake Taylor and tight end Rocky Beers on Tuesday.
Oklahoma is coming off of a 10-3 finish this past season and made the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2019. The Sooners earned the No. 8 seed and hosted a first-round matchup against Alabama, but lost 34-24.
Now as they look to build upon that finish, utlizing the transfer portal will be critical. In addition to the players it has brought in, OU has also seen 20 players leave via the portal.

The Sooners defense was one of the best in the country this past season, and the addition to Dakoda Fields will only make it even stronger heading into 2026. We’ll wait and see what kind of role he can carve out for himself with OU also losing cornerbacks Devon Jordan and Maliek Hawkins.

More on the transfer portal in 2026
The 15-day transfer portal this winter will be the only window, opening Jan. 2 and closing on Jan. 16. The NCAA opted to eliminate the spring transfer portal window for football, meaning this will be the only opportunity for student athletes to enter their names.
The move to a one-time-only portal is supposed to allow schools to finish their season with their entire team before the transfer portal opens. As has been the previous standard, athletes on College Football Playoff teams still playing would have 5 days beginning the day after their team’s final game to enter the transfer portal.
This season’s CFP semifinals are set for Jan. 8 and 9. The CFP national championship game is scheduled for Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida
