Ohio State EDGE Logan George plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Ohio State EDGE Logan George plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
George was a one-year transfer to Ohio State, singing with the program in Dec. 2024 out of the transfer portal from Idaho State. He began his career as a walk-on at Utah State despite holding scholarship offers from several schools coming out of college, including Idaho State, where he’d later end up.
However, he never took a snap for Utah State. Instead, George embarked on a two-year mission trip before transferring to Idaho State. He played two seasons for the Bengals before his lone season in Columbus.
During that stretch, George played in 22 games, starting all 12 in 2024 and leading the Big Sky Conference with 18.5 tackles for loss. However, he played sparingly for the Buckeyes and logged just two tackles during two appearances in 2025.

During the 2024 season, George logged 56 total tackles, 6.0 sacks and six quarterback hurries. He’d go on to set his personal best with 4.0 TFLs vs. Idaho. In two years, he logged 87 total tackles at Idaho State with 23.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
Ohio State finished the 2025 season with a 12-2 record. This included a 12-0 start to the regular season before falling to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship game and eventually Miami in the Cotton Bowl during the College Football Playoff quarterfinal. The Buckeyes were hoping to repeat as national champions after winning the program’s first title in a decade in 2024. However, that won’t be the case after the 24-14 loss.
Now, George will look to find his final college football home during the 2026 season. He’ll be able to enter his name officially into the portal at midnight at Jan. 2. The NCAA transfer portal will be open for 15 days and close on Jan. 16 as a part of the new one-time portal window.
