Notre Dame wing Jalen Haralson plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Notre Dame freshman wing Jalen Haralson plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Haralson will have three seasons of eligibility remaining wherever he lands.
Haralson was named an All-ACC honorable mention after averaging 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and a team-leading 2.6 assists per game as a freshman. He also shot 51.5-pecent from the field while starting 23 of his 27 game during the 2025-26 season. Haralson also led the Irish in scoring 10 times this season while producing double-digit scoring efforts in all but three games this year.
Haralson signed with Notre Dame as a four-star prospect and the No. 20 player overall in the 2025 recruiting cycle out of La Lumiere School (Anderson, Ind.), where he was rated as the No. 2 player in Indiana and No. 6 small forward in the class, according to Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all three major recruiting services.
The 6-foot-7, 220-pound Haralson is a tough loss for the Fighting Irish as he was considered a potential piece head coach Micah Shrewsberry could build around, especially given his versatility. Haralson signed as a small forward but saw much of his time on the court at guard this past season.
“He’s a stat-sheet stuffer,” Shrewsberry told On3’s Blue & Gold in October. “He can score the ball when he needs to. He can rebound the ball. He can make passes. And we use him in a lot of different ways, and we will keep using him in a lot of different ways.”

Haralson embraced his role as a do-everything player in the lead-up to his first — and potentially but not definitely only — season of college basketball.
“I’m a versatile guy,” Haralson said in October. “I can do a lot of things on the court. Coming in, I don’t want to hold myself to just one position or doing one thing. I can rebound, push the pace. I can score the ball. I can pass. I can do a lot of things. So it’s really just making an impact on the game.”
