Former Notre Dame lineman Paul Duncan passes away at age 35
Notre Dame shared a farewell tribute to former offensive lineman Paul Duncan, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 35. Duncan was a member of Notre Dame’s 2005 recruiting class and graduated in 2009. After playing for Notre Dame, Duncan signed as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos.

“Our prayers go out to the family and friends of Paul Duncan,” read an official statement on Notre Dame’s Twitter account. “A great teammate, but more importantly a loving husband and father.”
Duncan’s wife, Ellen, shared the tragic news over the weekend via Instagram, with a message explaining the sudden circumstance of his death.

“Friday July 15th, Paul went into cardiac arrest while on a run in our neighborhood. [Saturday] he was pronounced brain dead. We will have a medical examination to understand cause of death.
“His body will be donated to people in need of organs and to medical research. Details on funeral arrangements to follow. Thank you for your prayers and support.”
