Former Arizona State offensive lineman Josh Atkins has committed to Missouri, via the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The 2026 season will be his sixth at the collegiate level.

He spent two seasons with the Sun Devils, recording 26 starts. Before joining Arizona State, Atkins played one season at Hawaii, where he started in 13 games. Prior to his lone campaign at Hawaii, Atkins spent two seasons at Houston, but didn’t see any action for the Cougars.

Atkins played high school football at Mansfield Timberview (TX), where he was a three-star recruit. He was the No. 1,468 overall player and No. 133 offensive tackle in the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

Atkins is the 10th player who has committed to Missouri via the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. At the time of his commitment to the Tigers, Atkins was the No. 9 offensive tackle in On3’s 2026 Transfer Portal Player Rankings.

Atkins will likely protect Austin Simmons for Missouri next season. Simmons transferred from Ole Miss to Missouri this week after serving as the Rebels’ backup this past season. He is expected to start for the Tigers next season.

Missouri finished the 2025 campaign with an 8-5 overall record and a 4-4 mark in conference play. It was a step backward for the Tigers, who’d recorded double-digit wins the previous two seasons. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz is determined to guide the program to new heights in 2026.

“Nothing good comes easy,” Drinkwitz said after Missouri’s loss to Virginia in the Gator Bowl. “It will be a fight to the finish here, a fight to finish off re-signing our team, then we’ll go to work. That’s what we’ll do.

“I think, and I know, the fans are disappointed. I’m disappointed. I know that locker room’s disappointed. That’s a good thing. That’s a good thing when Missouri is disappointed after a season like this. That’s where we want to be. That’s what we got to be. That’s what we’re going to continue to fight to uphold.”
