3-star WR Kenric Lanier flips to Minnesota from Vanderbilt
Decatur (Ga.) three-star receiver Kenric Lanier has flipped his commitment from Vanderbilt to Minnesota. Lanier had been committed to Vanderbilt since June 28.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder is the No. 729 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 103 receiver and the No. 72 senior recruit in the state of Georgia.

Lanier has an On3 NIL Valuation of $13.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
With Lanier’s commitment, the Golden Gophers have three high school receiver commitments in their 2023 class. He joins Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest three-star prospect Nuke Haye and Indianapolis (Ind.) North Central three-star wide prospect TJ McWilliams who announced his commitment to the Golden Gophers Monday morning.
