Colorado State transfer QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi commits to Michigan
Colorado State transfer quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has committed to play for Michigan in 2026, On3’s Hayes Fawcett confirmed. He played the past four seasons with the Rams and started 28 career games.
Fowler-Nicolosi spent the past four seasons at Colorado State, including as the starter for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He also started the first three games of this season before being benched.
The QB ends his career with the Rams with 6,938 yards passing and 38 touchdowns to 29 interceptions. He’ll have at least one more season of eligibility to use.
Fowler-Nicolosi played high school football for Aledo (TX), where he was a three-star recruit. He ranked as the No. 1,080 overall player and No. 62 quarterback in the 2022 class according to the On3 | Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.
As a transfer, Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi is the No. 973 overall player and No. 57 quarterback to enter the portal this cycle according to On3. He is also the eighth player and the first quarterback that Michigan has brought in through the portal.

The Wolverines are coming off of a 9-4 finish this past season and fired coach Sherrone Moore after a scandal to end the year. They hired Kyle Whittingham as his replacement and now their quest to build the 2026 roster through the portal is on.

The 15-day transfer portal this winter will be the only window, opening Jan. 2 and closing on Jan. 16. The NCAA opted to eliminate the spring transfer portal window for football, meaning this will be the only opportunity for student athletes to enter their names.
The move to a one-time-only portal is supposed to allow schools to finish their season with their entire team before the transfer portal opens. As has been the previous standard, athletes on College Football Playoff teams still playing would have 5 days beginning the day after their team’s final game to enter the transfer portal.
This season’s CFP semifinals took place Jan. 8 and 9. The CFP national championship game between Miami and Indiana is scheduled for Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
