Kansas State EDGE Tobi Osunsanmi plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Kansas State redshirt-junior EDGE Tobi Osunsanmi plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on X/Twitter Friday afternoon. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Osunsamni spent four seasons in Manhattan. He recorded 49 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
“I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game I love and for guiding me through every step of the journey,” he wrote in a statement. “I’m extremely grateful for my time here at Kansas State and for the coaches who believed in me, the teammates who became brothers, and everyone who supported me on and off the field. The lessons, relationships, and experiences I’ve gained will always be a part of me.
“After countless amounts of prayer, reflection, and conversations with my family and coaches, I’ve decided to enter the Transfer Portal. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey so far.”
Prior to enrolling at Kansas State, Osunsanmi was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 636 overall player in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus. He was the No. 67-ranked LB in his class and the No. 4 overall player from the state of Kansas, hailing from East.
Kansas State hired Collin Klein as new head coach
Following seven seasons as Kansas State‘s head coach, Chris Klieman announced that he’d be stepping down. The Wildcats clinched their sixth victory of the season with a 24-14 win over Colorado in their season finale, but turned down a bowl bid once the Klieman news was announced.

The program moved quickly in finding a replacement, which just so happened to be former Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback Collin Klein. Klein, who had spent the past two seasons as Texas A&M‘s offensive coordinator, was a no-brainer to lead the program into a new era.
“I love challenges,” Klein said at his introductory press conference. “I love going and doing hard things. To take this program where it’s never been is going to be hard, and I want it to be hard. I want it to be hard. I want it to be difficult. We’re going to attack it as a staff, with our players, as a fan base, and as an administration. We’re going to take this program where it hasn’t been before.”
Although the program made a coaching hire that excited the fanbase, Osunsanmi will not be sticking around for the new era. Coming out of high school, he committed to Klieman and Kansas State over rival Kansas.
