2023 athlete Zach Lutmer commits to in-state Iowa
Rock Rapids (Iowa) Central Lyon Senior athlete Zach Lutmer has committed to Iowa, he announced Friday afternoon on Twitter.
Lutmer chose the Hawkeyes over offers from South Dakota and South Dakota State, as well as interest from Minnesota and Iowa State.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder picked the in-state school just one day after receiving an offer.
As a junior this past season, Lutmer played all over the field. He ended the year with 1,016 passing yards and eight touchdown passes as a quarterback. He added 149 carries for 1,246 yards, and 22 touchdowns on the ground. On defense, Zach Lutmer totaled 46.5 tackles and three tackles for a loss to go with four interceptions.
He is the Hawkeyes’ eighth commitment in the 2023 class, including the fourth from the state of Iowa. The Hawkeyes class currently ranks No. 24 nationally in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
