Alabama A&M transfer OL TyQuez Richardson has committed to Georgia out of the NCAA transfer portal, per report. Richardson started all 12 games for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in 2025.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound offensive lineman also held an offer from Colorado coming out of high school. Now, the Atlanta native head back to the Peach State to play for Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs.

Richardson is the eighth player to commit to the Bulldogs out of the NCAA transfer portal. They’ve lost 14 to the portal so far this cycle. Georgia’s current portal class ranks 53rd nationally, according to On3’s 2026 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings.

He’ll now join a Georgia program that is coming off an SEC Championship and a trip to the Sugar Bowl as the No. 3 team in the College Football Playoff. While their season may not have ended in the way Georgia had hoped, it was another season where Kirby Smart’s program was at the forefront of college football. That doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon, and now Richardson will be a part of that effort with his home state Bulldogs in 2026.

Richardson’s commitment came on the same day that Georgia OL Jamal Meriweather entered the portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Meriweather appeared in 15 games over the past two seasons in Athens, including 12 this past season as a key reserve offensive lineman. Meriweather also appeared in three games in 2024 as a redshirt freshman against ClemsonTennessee Tech and UMass.

Meriweather was the 14th Georgia player to enter the portal since the two-week window opened Jan. 2nd, and third offensive lineman, joining fellow offensive tackles Nyler Daniels and Bo Hughleythe latter of whom committed to Colorado on Monday. Meriweather followed Bulldogs cornerback Dominick Kelly into the portal after the now-former UGA defensive back entered on Wednesday.
