4-star Sadraque Nganga commits to Boise State

Sadraque Nganga, a 6-foot-9 power forward out of Chandler (Az.) Compass Prep has committed to Boise State basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Once considered a top-15 prospect, Nganga has struggled with continuous injuries for the latter part of his high school career, which had a massive impact on his recruitment and on-court production. Considered a five-star recruit at the time, Nganga announced a final 11 schools last year – Memphis, Arizona State, Georgia, Oklahoma, St. Mary’s, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Arizona, and Auburn. Struggling to stay healthy, schools had to look elsewhere.

Thankfully, the big man is now fully healthy and is headed to the Mountain West Conference to play for Leon Rice.

Nganga breaks down his commitment

Prior to visiting Boise State two weekends ago, Nganga made trips to Memphis and St. Mary’s before ultimately deciding on the Broncos.

“I like their coaches,” Nganga explained. “When I took my visit, I noticed it’s a place where you can focus on basketball and school. That’s your main focus. The coaches will let you play your game and play through your mistakes.”

What will Sadraque Nganga bring to Boise State next year?

“Just being able to score, that’s the most important thing that I can do. The coaches have told me how I need to be a good leader, lead by example, bring energy each game, and be a good teammate. Just do whatever it takes to win.”
