Alabama freshman receiver Lotzeir Brooks posted and then deleted a picture of himself in a hospital neck brace to his Instagram account on Sunday. Brooks was reportedly involved in a car accident over the weekend and the brace was “precautionary,” according to BamaOnLine‘s Andrew Bone.

“Spoke with someone close to Brooks regarding his Instagram post in a neck brace,” Bone reported on the BOL Round Table message board. “He was involved in a car accident (not his fault) this weekend. The brace is precautionary, but was told he is OK.”

After finishing fourth on the roster in receiving as a true freshman last season, Brooks signed a new deal with the Crimson Tide to return for the 2026, the team’s NIL collective, Yea Alabama, announced on Jan. 6.

“I love it here. There’s no reason to leave,” Brooks told Yea Alabama, via BamaOnline’s Charlie Potter.

Brooks hauled in 441 yards and two touchdowns — both coming in Alabama’s first-round College Football Playoff game against Oklahoma — on 32 receptions in 2025 and is poised to build upon that production as the team’s second-best returning receiver behind only rising junior Ryan Williams.

Bone’s report about Brooks’ status is a welcomed sign for a Crimson Tide offense that has already lost leading receiver Germie Bernard to the NFL and No. 3 receiver Isaiah Horton to the transfer portal. The pair combined for 1,373 receiving yards and 15 of the team’s 32 total receiving scores on the season.

Along with Brooks and Williams, Alabama’s receiver room is expected to return rising sophomore Rico Scott and rising junior Cole Adams. Five-star WR signee Cederian Morgan is also already on campus.

Alabama RB signee Ezavier Crowell buys mom car for Valentine’s Day with NIL money

Star Alabama recruit Ezavier Crowell is wasting no time paying his mother back for all the hard work that’s gone into his football career. He purchased her a beautiful GMC Denali for Valentine’s Day.

Check out a photo of the gift below, shared to X/Twitter by Larry Rudolph, where the car is paired with the duo sharing a big smile. That’s what you like to see when it comes to NIL in action.

On the field, Alabama landed one of the most dynamic offensive prospects in the 2026 class in the five-star running back Crowell. He blends track speed with punishing between-the-tackles power, creating an exciting dynamic.
