On the field, Alabama landed one of the most dynamic offensive prospects in the 2026 class in the five-star running back Crowell. He blends track speed with punishing between-the-tackles power, creating an exciting dynamic.

At 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, Crowell already possesses a college-ready build with excellent weight distribution and balance. But what separates him isn’t just size; it’s verified top-end speed.

The Jackson (Ala.) standout has posted personal bests of 10.73 seconds in the 100 meters and 22.38 in the 200, rare track numbers for a back of his frame. That explosiveness consistently shows up on film, where he demonstrates elite acceleration and the kind of lateral wiggle that allows him to win in tight spaces.

Crowell averaged nearly 12 yards per carry last season, totaling 1,964 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns on 168 attempts. The production matches the athletic profile.

More on Ezavier Crowell, Alabama Crimson Tide

He’s a home-run threat any time he touches the ball, capable of sticking his foot in the ground and exploding through a crease before defenders can react. Yet he’s far from just a perimeter speed back, as Crowell runs with violence between the tackles, maintaining excellent pad level and leg drive in short-yardage situations.

Moreover, Rivals national analyst Hunter Shelton described him as a “three-down dynamo,” though refinement remains in areas like pass protection and expanded route running. Still, Crowell shows comfort catching the ball in the flat and plays with a toughness that suggests growth in those phases will come.

Originally part of the 2027 class before reclassifying to 2026, Crowell didn’t lose any shine in the process. He sits as the No. 13 overall recruit in the 2026 cycle according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.

For Alabama, Crowell represents the prototype of the modern SEC running back. He’s explosive enough to score from anywhere, physical enough to grind between the tackles, and athletic enough to evolve into a true three-down weapon. The future is bright for him in Tuscaloosa.
